Conceptual Museum of Ewa Partum

Ewa Partum is one of the most important Polish artists. Her works, that she has created since the early 70’s, are conceptual. She is the author of ephemeral art, site specific art and visual poetry. Ewa Partum alongside with Natalia LL and Maria Pininska-Beres was a pioneer of feminist art in Poland. In the 70’s Ewa Partum lived in Lodz, where she created a lot of important works. During that time she also founded and run the Address Gallery (Galeria Adres, Lodz, Poland), based on mail art and the correspondence with artists from various countries. Address Gallery was also an attempt to mentally overcome the 'iron curtain' and get in touch with artists from the West. Currently, the artist has lived for many years in Berlin. The Polish city Lodz, however, still occupies an important place in her artistic CV, hence the artist decided to create her 'conceptual museum' here.

Natalia LL - Art as magic, Artist as a shaman

Natalia LL presented her latest project Private Magic from the series called Opera Omnia in FF Gallery (Galeria FF, Lodz, Poland, November 2010). Her project consists of photos, animations and objects. Photographs in which the artist appears in a mask or surrounded by ritual objects suggests many ways of interpretation. One of them, the most obvious, suggested by artist herself in the work titles, is the reference to myths.

Fading Traces – women artists yesterday and today. Seven subjective art histories presented in Anka Lesniak's project.

Anka Lesniak in her project deconstructed the way art historians work. The artist referred to the art of women who started to create in the 70’s in Poland. She does not do it, however, based on bibliography, but shows the art history of that time referring to the direct testimony of the artists. This way she continues her previous research dealing with the role of women in art and art history.

Préavis de Désordre Urbain is an International Laboratory Festival of Performance, created in Marseille (2007) by Redplexus network, in which performance artists are invited to explore public and urban space, provoke, cause chaos and disruption. Radical, subversive and poetical actions are encouraged and it is expected that the audience will go through unexpected experiences.
